HISTORY
In the beginning there were two young entrepreneurs, a handful of machines and a vision. On August 1, 1988, Bruno Meier and Heinz Rennerich founded the company ReMe (Rennerich – Meier) as a garage company in Hövelhof. Bruno Meier had been employed by Formaplan/Geha-Möbelwerke for 33 years before becoming self-employed and was responsible for the sales and development of drawers. 1988
On August 1, 1988, Bruno Meier and Heinz Rennerich founded the company ReMe (Rennerich – Meier) as a garage company in Hövelhof. Bruno Meier had been employed by Formaplan/Geha-Möbelwerke for 33 years before becoming self-employed and was responsible for the sales and development of drawers.
1993
In 1993 Heinz Rennerich amicably left the company and founded the subsidiary, Heinz Rennerich sole proprietorship.
1998
Addition of the high-quality PERSPEKTIVE 2000 concealed slide to the product portfolio in plant 1.
1999
Heinz Rennerich’s company, Rennerich GmbH, is taken over by Jürgen Meier, the son of Bruno Meier.
2000
REME further expands its production and starts the production of ball bearing slides in the new production site plant 2. For this purpose, the first fully automatic plant for 17 mm slides is designed and built.
2001
In 2001, REME was awarded the German Workplace Investor Prize because at that time the company employed the largest number of disabled people in percentage terms. Companies with more than 100 employees were evaluated.
2003
The first fully automatic production line for the manufacture of FORTUNA concealed slides was designed and commissioned in plant 3. The switch to higher-quality concealed slides was a strategically vital decision for the company at that time, as the European market was flooded with cheap slides from China, resulting in a considerable loss of sales.
2006
This year, one of the big players in the furniture industry came forward and Bruno Meier put all eggs in one basket during the greatest crisis: Within a few months, the construction of a fully automatic production line for the manufacture of concealed slides with special widths was realized by the company’s own mechanical and plant engineering department.
2007
Design and commissioning of a fully automatic production plant for the manufacture of concealed slide with special widths. This plant was also to be the forerunner for the construction of further high-performance production plants.
2011
With the opening of production plant 4, REME further expands its cooperation with its main customer and manufactures specially designed concealed slides exclusively for the furniture giant. REME’s capability in the design of fully automated production lines has thus laid the foundation for the development of further concealed slides.
2013
Our test lab, which is used for load testing, training and innovation, was completely rebuilt in 2013. Here, the slides are subjected to a wide range of test requirements to give the end customer confidence that the slides will run safely and for a long time.
2018
To coincide with the company’s 30th anniversary, additional production lines for the manufacture of concealed slides are put into operation in the hall extension to plant 4b. The focus here is on the production of the new EXTREME premium full-extension slides, as well as the new FORTUNA with special widths.
2019
As managing director of REME, Bruno Meier feels the social responsibility and the need to secure the company in the long term. With his son Jürgen, who is also a member of the REME management, the course for the future of REME has been set. Fittingly, the future management of the company will not be left in external hands: Max Meier (Jürgen Meier’s son) starts a dual study program in the company and wants to keep the company in family ownership also in the third generation.
2021
Design of a fully automated production line for the manufacture of PERFECT concealed single-extension slides based on a star-shaped robust geometry. Commissioning and mass production are scheduled for 2022.

With a company history of more than 30 years, the family-owned company REME is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of concealed slides. REME constantly employs more than 200 people in four plants in the Hövelhof north commercial and industrial area. Thanks to decades of expertise in developing and designing fully automatic production systems for the mass production of concealed slides, the company continues to be future-proof.
